A ceiling stain or damp wall can have several origins: roof, terrace, facade, window seal, pipework or the neighbour above. Finding the real cause avoids repairing in the wrong place. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Austria are notified of your request.
Depending on what you agree with the worker, the job can include visual inspection, moisture readings, detection tools, a targeted water test, then repairing the identified source or giving a recommendation.
Note when the stain appears (after rain, constantly, after a neighbour's shower): these clues strongly guide the search.
Repairing the source comes first; plaster and paint repairs are done once the surface is dry.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
The source can be located in most cases, but some leaks need several checks.
The worker can guide the diagnosis; access to the neighbour's home requires their agreement.
Not necessarily; a targeted water test can reproduce the conditions.
Where the marks are, when they appear, the floor, what is above and how long the problem has existed.
