Getting your things back takes as much organisation as putting them in: checking against the inventory, loading in the right order and delivering room by room in the new home. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Sri Lanka are notified of your request.
Depending on the agreement, the service can include checking against the inventory, loading, transport, carrying, placing in the rooms indicated, reassembling furniture and removing packaging.
Draw up a list of what is stored, with the condition of each item, and keep a copy; photograph the important pieces. Perishable food, flammable products, gas cylinders, aerosols and animals are not stored. ID documents, jewellery, keys, medicines and valuables stay with you, never in a storage unit.
A heavy parcel is carried by two people, with straps, a sack truck or gliding pads, back straight and load close to the body. The route is measured first: doors, corners, stairs and ceiling height. Give the real weight, the dimensions, the floor and whether there is a lift: an underestimated weight is the main cause of injury and of refusal on site.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
Depending on the site and the agreement; state it in advance.
From short term to several months; agree on duration and conditions.
It is done together before the furniture leaves; keep a copy.
Approximate volume, list of furniture, desired duration, floors and the in and out dates.
