Wood flooring brings warmth and comfort to a room. Solid, engineered or laminate, floating, glued or nailed: success depends on a dry, flat, prepared floor and respecting expansion gaps. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in France are notified of your request.
Depending on what you agree with the worker, the job can include checking the subfloor, levelling if needed, laying underlay, cutting and laying boards, expansion gaps, thresholds and refitting skirting.
The floor must be dry, clean and flat; a recent screed or damp floor can damage the boards. The worker checks before laying.
Wood moves: a perimeter gap is left along walls. On underfloor heating, the flooring must be compatible per the manufacturer.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
Laminate is a durable imitation; engineered has a real wood layer. It depends on budget and use.
