Opening a kitchen onto the living room, joining two small rooms or removing an unnecessary low wall: demolishing a wall transforms a space. It also creates a lot of dust and rubble, and requires knowing exactly what is being demolished. On Helplease, you describe the wall and the workers offering this service in Saint Lucia are notified of your request.
Depending on what you agree with the worker, the job can include protecting floors and adjacent rooms, demolition, clean cutting at junctions, bagging and removing rubble, and a final clean-up.
This is the key question. A load-bearing wall supports part of the structure: it is never demolished without prior assessment by a qualified professional and suitable reinforcement. If in doubt, say so.
Electrical cables, water or gas pipes may run through the partition. They must be identified and isolated before demolition, then rerouted if necessary.
Protect or empty adjacent rooms. In an apartment building, consider working hours and neighbours.
Floor, walls and ceiling keep traces of the old wall. Making good the plaster, floor or paint should be specified.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
Its thickness, position and the building plans give clues, but only a check by a qualified professional can confirm it.
Specify it in your request. A rubble removal service also exists in the catalogue.
It is strongly recommended because of the dust. Otherwise, furniture must be protected.
