Staying home all day for a delivery slot is not always possible. The worker waits for the courier, takes the parcel and keeps it until you are back. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Uganda are notified of your request.
Depending on the agreement, the mission can include waiting during the agreed slot, taking delivery, checking the apparent condition, safekeeping and handover with confirmation.
The worker receives and keeps parcels in a dry, safe place, without opening them, and hands them to you with confirmation. Agree in advance what may be accepted: a cash-on-delivery parcel, a delivery not in your name or a package of unknown origin is not accepted. Fragile or valuable parcels are flagged in the request.
Hand the keys over in person, with a written list of what is allowed, and take them back at the end: no copies are made. Alarm codes are given to one person only and changed afterwards if needed. The worker invites nobody and posts nothing about your home; on your side, avoid announcing your absence on social media.
