A cellar or loft closed for years holds dust, mould and sometimes pest nests: mask, gloves, closed shoes and airing before starting. Heavy loads are carried by two people, with a clear route and enough light. Unknown chemicals, gas cylinders, swollen batteries, materials suspected of containing asbestos or dangerous objects are not handled: they are flagged and passed to an authorised channel.
Sorting belongs to the client: nothing is thrown away, given away or sold without approval, and sensitive items — papers, photos, jewellery, post, keepsakes — are set aside for you to decide yourself. What the worker sees among your belongings stays confidential. What is disposed of goes to the right channel: donation, recycling or a waste centre, never fly-tipping.
