A stove or fireplace to check, underfloor heating that no longer warms up, a solar water heater, flushing a clogged circuit, sweeping or a pre-winter check: some needs are not among the listed services. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in United States are notified of your request.
Before choosing this service, check whether a more specific one exists: boiler servicing, gas water heater repair, bleeding, radiator or thermostat replacement, air conditioning or ventilation. Otherwise, describe the installation, its age and the exact symptom.
A gas water heater is not handled yourself and requires permanent ventilation that is never blocked. Carbon monoxide cannot be seen or smelled: headaches, nausea, tiredness or dizziness affecting several people, or easing when you go outside, mean opening the windows, switching the appliance off, going out and calling the emergency services. If you smell gas, touch no switch and call from outside.
An emergency call-out is still a service that can be discussed: ask for the estimated amount before the work starts, a detailed invoice at the end, and refuse to sign a document you have not read. Be wary of anyone piling up unjustified replacements, demanding immediate cash payment or refusing to put their estimate in writing. The worker must be qualified for the work concerned.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
