Air conditioning installation in New Zealand

Air conditioning installation — New Zealand

A well-installed air conditioner consumes less and lasts longer. Where the units go, the length of the lines, condensate drainage and sizing for the area matter as much as the brand of the unit. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in New Zealand are notified of your request.

Key points

Refrigerant and installation

Handling refrigerant is reserved for a professional authorised under the applicable regulations: an improvised installation or recharge damages the unit and releases a gas that is harmful to the environment. The outdoor unit needs a solid mount, enough airflow and attention to noise for the neighbours. Condensate drains to a proper outlet, never onto a neighbour's wall.

Electricity: regulated work

Any work on the circuit is done with the power off at the breaker, and connecting a device to the consumer unit is for a qualified professional. A protective device is never replaced with a higher-rated one to stop it tripping: that tripping protects the installation. After reassembly, a function test is carried out before closing up and switching back on.

What affects the price

nature of the work;
equipment and parts;
difficulty of access;
length of the job;
number of units involved.

The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
