Other heating need in Saint Lucia

Other heating need — Saint Lucia

A stove or fireplace to check, underfloor heating that no longer warms up, a solar water heater, flushing a clogged circuit, sweeping or a pre-winter check: some needs are not among the listed services. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Saint Lucia are notified of your request.

What the service covers

stove, fireplace and flue;
underfloor heating;
solar or heat-pump water heater;
flushing the circuit;
pre-winter check of the system.

Before choosing this service, check whether a more specific one exists: boiler servicing, gas water heater repair, bleeding, radiator or thermostat replacement, air conditioning or ventilation. Otherwise, describe the installation, its age and the exact symptom.

Key points

Gas, combustion and carbon monoxide

A gas water heater is not handled yourself and requires permanent ventilation that is never blocked. Carbon monoxide cannot be seen or smelled: headaches, nausea, tiredness or dizziness affecting several people, or easing when you go outside, mean opening the windows, switching the appliance off, going out and calling the emergency services. If you smell gas, touch no switch and call from outside.

Quote and vigilance in an emergency

An emergency call-out is still a service that can be discussed: ask for the estimated amount before the work starts, a detailed invoice at the end, and refuse to sign a document you have not read. Be wary of anyone piling up unjustified replacements, demanding immediate cash payment or refusing to put their estimate in writing. The worker must be qualified for the work concerned.

What affects the price

nature of the work;
equipment and parts;
difficulty of access;
length of the job;
number of units involved.

The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
