Replacing a thermostat in Burkina Faso

Replacing a thermostat — Burkina Faso

A well-set thermostat does more for the bill than lowering the target by degrees that feel uncomfortable. Replacing a mechanical model with a programmable one changes how you heat, at the same comfort level. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Burkina Faso are notified of your request.

What the service covers

removing the old thermostat;
fitting and wiring the new one;
programming the time slots;
wired or wireless thermostat;
explanation of operation and settings.

Depending on the agreement, the job can include a compatibility check, removal, fitting, wiring, programming, a function test and an explanation of the settings.

Key points

Electricity: regulated work

Any work on the circuit is done with the power off at the breaker, and connecting a device to the consumer unit is for a qualified professional. A protective device is never replaced with a higher-rated one to stop it tripping: that tripping protects the installation. After reassembly, a function test is carried out before closing up and switching back on.

Quote and vigilance in an emergency

An emergency call-out is still a service that can be discussed: ask for the estimated amount before the work starts, a detailed invoice at the end, and refuse to sign a document you have not read. Be wary of anyone piling up unjustified replacements, demanding immediate cash payment or refusing to put their estimate in writing. The worker must be qualified for the work concerned.

What affects the price

nature of the work;
equipment and parts;
difficulty of access;
length of the job;
number of units involved.

The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
