A night watchman provides a deterrent presence when the premises are closed or the occupants are asleep: patrols, access control, checking locks and alerting designated contacts if anything is wrong. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Ireland are notified of your request.
The role is defined with the worker: hours, area covered, instructions, people to contact, expected patrols and equipment provided (torch, phone, shelter).
Give hours, access points, who may enter, numbers to call and what to do in an incident: the watchman raises the alert, he does not replace the police.
For regular guarding, employment and declaration conditions fall under applicable regulations; check them and formalise the agreement.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
His role is to watch and alert; in a break-in he calls the police and designated contacts.
