Zip replacement

Zip replacement — South Georgia

A broken zip, one that splits or a slider that no longer holds makes a garment unusable. Having a seamstress replace it lets you keep a piece you like, often at limited cost. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in South Georgia are notified of your request.

What the service covers

• trousers, skirts and dresses;
• jackets and coats;
• separating or invisible zips;
• cushion and mattress covers;
• replacing just the slider when possible.

Depending on what you agree with the worker, the job can include removing the old zip, choosing a zip of suitable length and type, sewing and finishing.

Key points

Slider or whole zip

Sometimes only the slider needs replacing; if the teeth are damaged, the whole zip must be changed.

Type and colour

Invisible, metal or separating zip: the choice depends on the garment; bring it to match the colour.

What affects the price

• type of garment;
• zip length and type;
• difficulty (lining, leather, coat);
• number of items;
• timeframe.

The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
