A good DJ reads the room: the right track at the right time, building gradually and knowing when to slow down. The playlist is prepared with you, with your must-plays and what you really do not want to hear. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Saint Lucia are notified of your request.
Depending on the agreement, the service can include preparing the playlist, setting up the equipment, the performance during the evening, announcements if agreed and taking down at the end.
The volume stays reasonable: prolonged exposure to loud sound tires the hearing, particularly in children, who are not placed near the speakers. Strobe effects are announced and kept moderate, as they can affect some people. Finishing times are agreed with the venue and neighbours informed for late events.
Cables crossing a walkway are taped down or covered with a cable protector, never left loose across the floor. Extension leads are not daisy-chained, equipment is plugged into a circuit suited to its load, and anything set up outdoors is protected from rain and damp.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
