A leak never fixes itself and costs more with every hour: swollen flooring, a stained ceiling downstairs, a water bill that climbs. The first thing to do is still to turn off the water. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Austria are notified of your request.
Depending on the agreement, the call-out can include making safe, tracing the source, an estimate before work, the repair, a test on recommissioning and cleaning the area.
Turn off the main water supply and, if water is reaching a socket or an appliance, switch off the power to that area at the breaker. Do not use any electrical appliance in a flooded room. If you smell gas: do not touch any switch, open the windows, close the gas valve if you can reach it safely, leave and call the emergency services from outside.
An emergency call-out is still a service that can be discussed: ask for the estimated amount before the work starts, a detailed invoice at the end, and refuse to sign a document you have not read. Be wary of anyone piling up unjustified replacements, demanding immediate cash payment or refusing to put their estimate in writing. The worker must be qualified for the work concerned.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
Depending on availability; state the real urgency and the exact address in your request.
