Wood is everywhere in a home: doors, cupboards, drawers, skirting boards, stairs, built-in furniture. Over time and with moisture, it swells, splits or comes unstuck, and fittings work loose. These small defects can often be fixed in a single visit. On Helplease, you describe what needs repairing and the workers offering this service in France are notified of your request.
Depending on what you agree with the worker, the job can include planing, sanding, regluing, replacing screws, hinges or runners, filling, and touching up the finish on the repaired area.
This service covers limited repairs. Fully restoring a piece of furniture, varnishing a whole surface or custom joinery fall under other services in the catalogue.
A touch-up on varnished, painted or stained wood may remain slightly visible. State the existing finish and your expectations.

The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.

Wood swells with humidity. Adjusting the hinges or light planing may be enough; mention that the problem is seasonal.
Generally yes: the hole is reinforced or filled, then the hinge is refixed, sometimes slightly offset.
