A chip the size of a coin is repaired in one visit; left alone, it turns into a crack at the first temperature swing and forces a full glass replacement. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Brazil are notified of your request.
Depending on the agreement, the job can include the diagnosis, the estimate, the repair or replacement, fitting the seals, recalibration where needed and the instructions before driving again.
A chip in the driver's field of view, or a large one, is not repaired: the glass is replaced. After a replacement, the vehicle is used again only after the curing time stated by the product manufacturer, and the fixings stay in place for the specified time. If the windscreen carries a driver-assistance camera, recalibration is needed: without it, the assistance systems can react wrongly.
An emergency call-out is still a service that can be discussed: ask for the estimated amount before the work starts, a detailed invoice at the end, and refuse to sign a document you have not read. Be wary of anyone piling up unjustified replacements, demanding immediate cash payment or refusing to put their estimate in writing. The worker must be qualified for the work concerned.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
