Lighting design in Saint Lucia

Lighting design — Saint Lucia

A single ceiling light flattens a room. Multiplying sources at different heights, choosing the right colour temperature and separating task lighting from ambient lighting changes the whole comfort of a home. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Saint Lucia are notified of your request.

What the service covers

lighting plan room by room;
choosing pendants and wall lights;
colour temperature and intensity;
task and ambient lighting;
setting up and final adjustment.

Depending on the agreement, the service can include analysing the room, a proposed lighting plan, selecting the fittings, setting up what does not touch the circuit and a final adjustment.

Key points

Electrics and light fittings

Any work on the electrical circuit — a new light point, moving a switch, changing the consumer unit — is for a qualified professional, with the power off at the breaker. Extension leads and adapters do not replace an installation: they are not daisy-chained and never run under a rug. A fitting is chosen to suit the room, particularly in a bathroom, and hot bulbs stay away from fabric and paper shades.

Limits and permissions

Decoration does not touch the structure: drilling a load-bearing wall, altering a partition or working on electrics, gas or plumbing is for qualified professionals. Before drilling, locate the conduits and pipes, and choose fixings suited to the surface and the weight. In a rental or a building with shared rules, check what the lease or the rules allow before making lasting changes.

What affects the price

area or number of rooms;
complexity of the project;
materials and supplies;
time needed;
travel.

The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
