A commissioned piece is built together: you describe the intention, the size and the mood, the artist proposes a sketch, then works once it is approved. The result is unique and fits your wall. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Haiti are notified of your request.
Depending on the agreement, the service can include discussing the project, a sketch, approval, the work itself, drying time, varnishing if planned and delivery or installation.
A commissioned piece does not reproduce someone else's work, a protected character or a brand logo: reproducing without permission exposes both the person ordering and the person making it. For a portrait from a photo, the agreement of the person shown and of the photographer is needed. Agree in advance what is delivered, which uses are allowed and how the author is credited.
Paints, varnishes, glues and solvents are used with a window open, no flame nearby, with gloves and a mask suited to the product. Never mix two products. Rags soaked in oil or varnish can heat up and ignite on their own: dry them flat outdoors or soak them in water before throwing them away, never bundled up in a bin.
The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
Depending on the agreement: they can supply them or work with yours; state it in your request.
