Radiator replacement in Brazi

Replacing a radiator — Brazi

A radiator that is leaking, blocked or oversized can be replaced without touching the rest of the system, provided the pipe centres match and the draining and repressurising are handled properly. On Helplease, you describe your needs and the workers offering this service in Brazi are notified of your request.

What the service covers

• removing the old radiator;
• partial draining and floor protection;
• fitting and connecting the new one;
• refilling and bleeding;
• pressure check and heat test.

Depending on the agreement, the job can include checking the existing connections, removal, fitting, connection, refilling, bleeding, the pressure check and taking away the old appliance.

Key points

Hot water, pressure and bleeding

A heating circuit holds scalding water under pressure: bleeding is done with the heating off and the circuit cooled, with a container and a cloth under the valve. Never force a seized bleed screw, and do not drain a system without knowing how to refill and repressurise it. Afterwards, the system pressure is checked and restored if needed.

Quote and vigilance in an emergency

An emergency call-out is still a service that can be discussed: ask for the estimated amount before the work starts, a detailed invoice at the end, and refuse to sign a document you have not read. Be wary of anyone piling up unjustified replacements, demanding immediate cash payment or refusing to put their estimate in writing. The worker must be qualified for the work concerned.

What affects the price

• nature of the work;
• equipment and parts;
• difficulty of access;
• length of the job;
• number of units involved.

The rate is agreed with the worker based on these elements.
